ABOUT US
FreedomWorks is a faith-based, nonprofit organization
committed to serving male former offenders and their families.
We believe that in order to reduce recidivism and nurture full integration into society, multi-dimensional support services, without discrimination, must be made available to meet the practical, spiritual and emotional needs of each program participant.
Our post-prison outreach involves two components:
• Freedom Services - We schedule events and activities on an ongoing basis. We have found that men who get connected and stay connected, stay out of prison.
Many of our events and activities include spouses or significant others and family members because we feel this is a very important element in each man's recovery. See the calendar for details. Go to our Events page to register for upcoming events.
• The Welcome Back Center - We provide ten housing units on the second floor (with an additional two units at a nearby duplex) and a place for fellowship, prayer, counseling and education on the first floor.
In 2010, we had provided:
- Food, fellowship and training for 2,230 men, mentors and visitors on Thursday evenings
- Faith-based chemical dependency support/accountability totaling 731 hours
- Bible Study totaling 1,293 hours, both in jail/prison and out
- Special events attended by 500 individuals
- Service outreach (our participants serving others) totaling 1,199 hours
- Individual case management totaling 370 hours.
FreedomWorks is a nonprofit corporation with 501(c)3, federal tax-exempt status. All gifts are tax deductible as charitable contribution, to the fullest extent allowed by law.
