ABOUT THE CREATION OF THIS WEBSITE

This site was redesigned and rewritten by three graduate school students as a group project for an Information Design course at the University of Minnesota during Fall semester 2008.

The overall conceptual layout and infrastructure was conceived by Julie Hunt, Edie Grossfield, and Cheri Ptacek. The site was built by Cheri based on the group's vision, with content researched and contributed by Julie, Edie and Cheri.

This effort was a heartfelt contribution to FreedomWorks in recognition of the outstanding contributions the organization makes toward guiding those who wish to better their lives.

Julie Hunt is employed by the Law School at the University of Minnesota. She received her B.A. in Political Science and Economics at Northern Illinois University. She also obtained a post-degree paralegal certificate. She is currently enrolled in the Scientific and Technical Writing graduate certificate program at the University of Minnesota.

Edie Grossfield is a content editor for PostBulletin.com, the online version of the Post-Bulletin newspaper in Rochester, Minnesota. She's been a journalist since 1992. She has a B.A. degree in Communication Arts and a Masters in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Cheri Ptacek is the Director of Operations in Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She holds a Master of Liberal Studies degree from the U of M, with a focus on Internet studies and online ethics, journalism and privacy. She earned a B.S. degree with honors in Persuasive Digital Design and Communication, as well as a graduate certificate in Innovation Studies, from the University of Minnesota. She is the founder and chief consultant of WebPerceptions.
