VOLUNTEERS

FreedomWorks is successful because of the
passion and devotion of our volunteers.

In 2008, volunteers have helped transform lives by

  • Providing 348 hours of computer training
  • Participating in over 1,100 hours of Bible study training
  • Mentoring our participants and developing a one-one relationship
  • Assisting 18 men in completing the Crown Financial study
  • Ministering to over 100 men who have participated in the FreedomWorks program

The Following are Ways You Can Help!

Adopt a Family for Christmas

This is a new and exciting ministry opportunity helping the whole family by giving gifts and food. Details to come.

I.T. Support

Computer training provides a valuable skill to our participants. Some participants have never touched a computer.

Meals

A group meal precedes the Thursday evening Bible study. We are in need of meals feeding 40 people.

Mentorship

Strong Christian men are needed to come along side a participant as a mentor by establishing a one-on-one relationship with an inmate (future participant) and/or current participant. Complete training is necessary and provided. The time commitment for this is 1-2 hours a week.

Office/Administrative

We need help for mailings and data-base entry.

Repairs – Automotive/Handyman

Affiliated with our FreedomWheels program, a mechanic’s time and expertise is invaluable in maintenance of vehicles. We also would appreciate those that have expertise in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work to help us fix repairs on the Penn Avenue Freedom house.

Special Events

We hold the following special events throughout the year. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate and participate in these events.

  • Open House (January)
  • Annual Fundraiser (May)
  • Fishing Event (June)
  • Ministry Celebration (July)
  • Golf Event (September)

Tutors

We are in need of tutors for ESL, highschool, and GED Preparation.
